Why do Cape Coral houses turn green or streaky?
Warm weather, high humidity and a long wet season are ideal for algae and mildew. Walls that face north, sit under trees or stay shaded by a neighbor's house stay damp and turn green first. Homes near canals often get a gray film from moist, salty air and dust that settles and stays.
Common problems we see
- Green or black mildew on the shaded sides of stucco.
- Orange rust spray from irrigation heads that hit the wall.
- Dirt trails under rooflines and around gutters.
- Dark streaks around garage doors and entry areas.
- Cobwebs and dust packed under eaves.
Rust marks need their own treatment. We explain what can be removed before we begin.
